Since 1980, the Twilight has been more than a bike race. It’s been more than a weekend of fast-paced, action-packed, non-stop excitement in an inclusive and welcoming environment. The streets of Athens have come alive with the pulse of elite racing, good vibes, and a community-wide festival that brings together generations of fans and participants alike. The Twilight has been an enduring symbol of ALL THINGS ATHENS.

Over the years, Twilight has evolved, always finding new ways to captivate, engage, and give back. Additions like the Twilight 5K, the $10K Mile Race, and the Gambler bike ride have expanded its appeal, inviting athletes and enthusiasts of all levels to join the excitement. From kid-friendly activities to live music, food vendors, an open container festival zone, art walk, and VIP experiences, the event has become a multifaceted celebration that welcomes everyone, embodying the inclusive and innovative spirit of Athens.

Friday night (April 17) features a music concert and competitive races on the stage (bikes on trainers). Saturday (April 18) morning kicks off with the largest 5K in Athens and a participation bike ride. Activities in the Kids Zone get going late morning and amateur cycling races happen one right after another all day. Saturday night is the main event: The women’s pro-am criterium (7:00 PM) measures 40K, while the men’s pro-am criterium (8:30 PM) is an 80K race around historic downtown Athens. The course start-finish line is on Washington Street at College Avenue. Grab your viewing spot early!
