Phinizy Swamp Wildlife Management Area

Phinizy Swamp Wildlife Management Area (WMA) encompasses 1,500 acres of state-owned property. The WMA consists of approximately 1,200 acres of wetlands and 300 acres of uplands. There are also five ponds that provide walk-in fishing opportunities at Phinizy Swamp.  Pre-season scouting, hiking, picnicking, canoeing, and other recreational uses are allowed year-round, unless otherwise posted at the WMA check station or at a specific recreation site. The hunting opportunities consist of archery deer hunting, waterfowl, squirrel, and some turkey.
