CARTERSVILLE, GEORGIA--JUNE 2017--This fall, make the most of the season with four fall festivals, alpacas, hiking and a restorative escape to the new Inn at Barnsley Resort--all in Cartersville-Bartow County, Georgia, conveniently located 45 miles north of Atlanta via I-75.

38th Annual Pine Log Arts & Crafts Fair (September 9-10) Held on the historic campground and tabernacle at Pine Log United Methodist Church, this juried arts and crafts fair features vendors from around the Southeast. A wide variety of handmade crafts and paintings will be available for purchase. Live music and pit-cooked barbecue are two highlights of this great event.
42nd Annual Arts Festival at Rose Lawn (September 16-17) More than 150 artists and handcrafters display their unique creations in this juried two-day festival on the tree-shaded estate of Rose Lawn, the Victorian home of Methodist Evangelist Sam Jones (1847-1906). Visitors will enjoy musical entertainment and performing arts, plus delicious food. Popular highlights include the American Association of University Women (AAUW) book sale and the Master Gardener's plant sale. Be sure to tour inside Rose Lawn ($7), where docents introduce Sam Jones' legacy. Juried Artist Awards are presented on stage at 1 p.m. Saturday, followed by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau Hospitality Heroes Awards and People's Choice Awards for Best Restaurant, Best Shoppe and Best Attraction.
49th Annual Great Locomotive Chase Festival (October 6-8) An October tradition in Historic Adairsville since 1968. See parades, arts and crafts, entertainers and pageants. Enjoy carnival rides, great music, food and fireworks. $3 for ages seven and older; admission good all three days.
Held at Friendship Plaza, with free admission and free music, this event is a must for those who love to tap their toes to the beat. There will be lots of musicians, vendors, food and adult beverages available throughout the day.

Pettit Creek Farms See a camel, zebra, Padagonian cavey, emu, herds of ponies and buffalo roaming...not to mention the proverbial cow, donkey, chicken, turkey, pig, goats, sheep and much, much more on this 80-acre farm. Beginning October 1, visit Pumpkin Fest where families are welcome, after 2 p.m., to visit the corn maze, the petting zoo, hayrides and shop for the perfect pumpkin.
Southern Estate Alpacas Southern Estate Alpacas is home to alpacas and goats. With 20-plus acres of lush green pastures on top of Eagle Mountain, the farm is surrounded by five-foot no-climb welded steel framed fencing and a 15-stall barn which also includes a vet-room and living quarters that provides a great getaway for overnight guests, traveling shearers or anyone that comes to help out around the farm. Take part in a farm tour, seminars about skeins, scones and scarves or plan a field trip for your group.
Take a hike! Autumn is the perfect time to explore the outdoors in Cartersville. Just steps from Cartersville's Main Street Exit on I-75, Pine Mountain Trailhead offers a challenging hike, taking visitors through a stream-filled forest studded with vast granite outcrops. With a summit that's 1,562 feet above sea level, guests climb to the highest point in the city with rewarding views. This rocky mountaintop overlooks Lake Allatoona, Stone Mountain and Kennesaw Mountain.
