A Burst of Color: Traditional Patterns, Modern Fabrics
Sharon Hendrix's quilts have been shown at the local, regional, and national levels, including as a semi-finalist in the American Quilt Society shows, and at the National Quilting Museum in Paducah. Her use of traditional patterns with modern colorful fabrics illustrates a blending of old and new quilting techniques and trends.

Textile Tales
The textiles in this exhibit were selected from the Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum’s permanent collection to highlight the types of stories that reveal layers of a textile's life. From the collection of materials to the spinning of thread, and piecing of a quilt, each step of the process is its own story. Each item in this exhibit will transport you to another time and will make you take a second look at the stitches of each story. “Textile Tales” includes a hand-woven coverlet that once wrapped a baby that died on a wagon train, a quilt that included pieces from a husband’s Confederate uniform, and many more secret finds. Don’t miss the tobacco quilts, made from flannel promotional items found in tobacco packages between 1910-1916, including the one made of flannel baseball cards.
