Surrounded by rolling pastures, farms and vast woods tiny Tignall, Georgia, has long been the center of North Wilkes County and is at a crossroads about an hour's drive from both Augusta and Athens.  

The Fishing Creek Wildlife Management Area is popular with lake fishers and small-game and waterfowl hunters.
