Lake Burton Civic Association Wooden Boat Parade and Show

Location

25 Shoreline Trail
Clarkesville GA 30525

[Clayton, GA] – Lake Burton, located in Rabun County, Georgia, will hold its Fourth Annual Vintage Wooden Boat Parade and Show on Sunday, May 28. Recently Rabun County was designated as “The Wooden Boat Capital of Georgia” by the Georgia Legislature, so there is extra excitement around this year’s parade and show. Hosted by the Lake Burton Civic Association (LBCA), this free, family-friendly event is open to all.

The 30 boats will assemble in Timpson Cove at 11 am and then proceed to LaPrade’s Marina. Built between 1930 and 1970, the boats will be moored and available for public viewing around 12:30 pm at LaPrades Marina, located at 25 Shoreline Trail, Clarkesville, GA 30523. The lead boat in the parade is the Burton One Fireboat.

Everyone is invited to come to see these beautiful watercraft. LBCA board member Andrew Harris who began the parade four years ago refers to these boats as, ‘floating works of art.”

The LBCA is a non-profit organization that works to promote and maintain the interests of Lake Burton and the surrounding area. The Wooden Boat Parade and Show is one of the LBCA’s signature events, and it is a great way to enjoy the summer weather and beautiful scenery of Lake Burton.
