The Columbus Symphony Orchestra is pleased to offer a free, family-friendly Open Rehearsal at 2:30pm on Saturday, March 14 at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. The orchestra will be rehearsing the music for their concert "North VS South: The Battle of the Baroque" to be performed later that evening. The length of the rehearsal is subject to the needs of the orchestra and may end slightly early.
Vivaldi | Concerto for Strings in C Major, RV 119
Marcello | Concerto for Oboe and Strings in C Minor*
Corelli | Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 8 (Christmas)
Handel | Water Music, Suite No. 1
*Featuring Erica Howard, Oboe
During the rehearsals, the performance hall doors are open and the house lights are on to create an informal setting that is welcoming to all!
We encourage attendance from all members of the community, including those who are unable to attend the evening concert or are interested in a “behind-the-scenes” look into the ensemble.
Open Rehearsals are a GREAT way to introduce young children to a live musical experience. In this informal and all-inclusive atmosphere, audience members are given the option of “paying what they want” by providing a donation or attending for free. You set the price!
