Eulonia

Eulonia is an unincorporated community in McIntosh County, accessible via exit 58 on I-95 just north of Darien. Home to Peach World, Altman's Restaurant, several hotels and other visitor services, Eulonia also serves as the gateway to nearby Shellman Bluff and Meridian, embarkation for Sapelo Island. Nearby is the Smallest Church in America, built in 1949 by Mrs. Agnes Harper and Deeded to Jesus Christ. Visitors are welcome year-round to stop in Christ's Chapel in Memory Park.

Many residents are descendants of the Gullah group of African Americans brought as slaves to work the local cotton and rice plantations. The award-winning McIntosh County Shouters, a Gullah traditional music group, perform regularly at Eulonia's Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Eulonia and other parts of Coastal Georgia are part of the Gullah Geechee National Heritage Corridor, a federally designated area recognizing the significant contributions of the Gullah Geechee people to the U.S.
