Our History

The 1823 Artisan Guild was founded in December 2018 by local artisans. Our name comes in recognition of the 1823 incorporation of the city of Forsyth and its inclusion in the new county of Monroe.

Our Mission

The guild's mission is to support and encourage creativity while displaying appreciation and patronage of the arts through educational activities such as lectures, tours, classes, workshops, and exhibits. The goal of our organization is simple: nurture and enhance the creativity of local artisans of all ages. The guild is dedicated to supporting artisans of all media types so that we can preserve our artistic passions by fostering the interest of younger generations.
