Athens Musician and Songwriter Kishi Bashi Releases New Solo Album

Athens-based musician Kishi Bashi, a onetime member of the band Of Montreal, has new released his latest solo album of swirling art-pop, "Omoiyari."

Stepping away from his past loop-based production model, the musician (whose primary instrument is violin) embraced a more collaborative approach for his fourth album, and for the first time included contributions from other musicians such as Mike Savino (Tall Tall Trees) on banjo and bass, and Nick Ogawa (aka Takenobu) on cello.

Kishi Bashi's upcoming U.S. tour kicks off June 8, 2019, in Athens with a sold out show at the Georgia Theatre.
