Mathis Hunter to Release Third Solo Album

Former Selmanaires and Noot d’Noot member Mathis Hunter will mark the release of his third solo album, "Mother Tongue," with a show at Atlanta’s The EARL on March 16, 2019.

Recorded live in the studio, and limited to 100 vinyl copies, "Mother Tongue" keeps a heavy foot in 1970s-style hard-riffing guitar rock, with touches of funk and psychedelia coloring the edges. Hunter estimates that he played close to 80 percent of the guitar and bass parts, with Andy Morrison of Atlanta band Frosted Orange adding extra textures. Lee Corum (Frosted Orange, Purkinje Shift) bangs the drums, and Pete Delorenzo (Gringo Star) has joined the live lineup on bass and backing vocals.
