Rising Athens Band Walden Releases EP; Playing Shaky Knees, AthFest

Up-and-coming Athens-based alt-rock quartet Walden has released a new four-song EP titled "The Static" in advance of upcoming high-profile shows in the area.

They’ll be playing the Shaky Knees festival on Saturday, May 4, 2019; get there early, as they’re one of the very first bands that day. They’re also slated to play their hometown’s annual AthFest Music and Arts festival in June.

Formed while the four members were still in high school, they won the “Road to Roo” competition in 2016, awarding them a slot on that year’s Bonnaroo lineup, but were disqualified because two of the members were under 21. The next year, once everyone in the lineup had reached legal drinking age, they won again and played Bonnaroo. They’ve since toured with bands such as Moon Taxi.
