Trisha Yearwood’s Album of Sinatra Covers Gets Wide Release
Trisha Yearwood's new album, her first since 2007, finds the Monticello, Georgia, country singer in a significantly different environment than what her fans are used to.
"Let's Be Frank" (which was available only at Williams Sonoma during Christmas season, but is now on sale everywhere via her own Gwendolyn Records label) features Yearwood fulfilling her long-held dream of recording her own versions of classic Frank Sinatra songs such as "The Lady is a Tramp," "Come Fly with Me" and "One for My Baby (And One More for the Road)." Recorded live with producer Don Was at Capitol Records studio in Hollywood, Yearwood sang with a 55-musician orchestra using the vintage microphone Frank himself used when he recorded at the same facility.
"Let’s Be Frank" also includes one new original song from Yearwood: "For the Last Time," written with her husband, Garth Brooks.
Fans wishing to hear Yearwood in her familiar country music setting needn't fret, however. She’s also been working on a new country album that should come out later this year.
