New Archery and Air Rifle Range Officially Opens at Lake Blackshear Resort & Golfing Club
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Celebrates Latest Outdoor Adventure Activity at Lake Blackshear Resort in Cordele, Georgia
Atlanta, Ga. – November 30, 2017 – Coral Hospitality-GA, LLC recently announced the opening of the new Archery and Air Rifle Range at Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club in Cordele, Georgia, the latest outdoor activity added to the adventurous, family-friendly property. Dignitaries, members of the media and company representatives gathered together on November 16, 2017 to commemorate the grand opening of the new range at Georgia Veterans State Park.
“We are thrilled to unveil this new activity at Lake Blackshear Resort and to continue promoting the incredible outdoor adventures that exist in the heart of South Georgia,” said Heath Carter, regional vice president of sales and marketing at Coral Hospitality. “We encourage both residents and visiting guests to test their skill at the new archery and air rifle range and explore all of the other wonderful activities we have here at our beautiful state park.”
The new facility at Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club features three practice ranges:
• Air Rifle Range – A covered ten-lane air rifle range that is ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible with target cables at a distance of 10 meters.
• Static Archery Range (pictured right) – Five ADA covered archery practice lanes of varying distances.
• 3-D Archery Trail – A woodland course with multiple wild game three-dimensional targets. Along the course are 15 stations that offer targets at various distances and obstacles, such as shrubbery and trees.
The Archery and Air Rifle Range is officially open to the public and operates on a first come, first serve basis unless participating in an instructional class. The range facility fee is $5 per person for the day or an annual pass at $50 per person, in addition to the existing park pass of $5. Guests can bring their own equipment and enjoy recreational shooting in a safe, affordable environment. Range users are expected to follow the rules posted at the facility, and only air rifles of .22 caliber or lower are allowed; broadhead arrows or crossbows are prohibited.
The resort will offer group programming and instructional classes taught by certified archery and air rifle instructors. Guests may choose either an archery or air rifle two-hour class or a combined 3.5-hour instructional class. Classes include all necessary gear, a safety and informational overview and an open shooting session. Custom group archery and air rifle packages are available upon request.
Lake Blackshear Resort features more than 100 guest accommodations, including lodge rooms, villas, lakeside cabins and campsites with camper-ready conveniences. In addition to the new Archery and Air Rifle Range, visitors can enjoy an 18-hole round of golf at Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course, the Military Museum, the SAM Shortline Excursion Train, biking, hiking and a variety of water activities: boating, jet skiing, paddling by kayak or canoe, fishing and swimming.
The property recently underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation, including refinished lodge guest rooms to incorporate cool colors and soft finishes to reflect the lakeside ambiance. Additionally, Lake Blackshear’s common areas also underwent major renovations, including the lobby, restaurant and 12,000+ square feet of meeting and event space.
