New Restaurant Opens in Chateau Elan Winery

August 16, 2017 BRASELTON, Georgia – Château Élan Winery is proud to announce the grand opening of marc, the final project in a four-year revitalization of the Château Élan vineyards and winery. This exciting new restaurant concept maintains the exceptional standards the Georgia landmark is known for, while curating a brand new wine and food immersion experience.
“marc is a French word meaning ‘spirit of the grape’,” said Executive Winemaker Simone Bergese. “In the past, farmers and cellar hands paid homage to the essence of the grape; marc is committed to in turn, honoring the essence to our carefully chosen, locally-sourced ingredients.”
Beginning in 2016, the winery underwent a two-million-dollar restoration, working with Atlanta based Subeau design team. marc’s modern yet down-to-earth main dining room features sliding barn doors, rustic wood table slabs, brass accented industrial chairs and elegant, sweeping velvet curtains for a warm but refined dining experience.
The culinary team, led by Chef Cameron Udick, formerly of Husk-Nashville, prepares a regularly-changing lunch and dinner menu focusing on southern classics and regional highlights featuring small plates, large butcher cuts and house-made desserts. “My team and I are working hard to showcase the quality of our ingredients, changing things up constantly and having a lot of fun,” said Udick.
“We are really excited about this opportunity to get back to our farm winery roots and bring a truly unique dining experience not found elsewhere in Northeast Georgia,” added Winery Food and Beverage Director, Peter Evers.
As expected from an award-winning winery and restaurant, marc offers all of Château Élan’s 27 varietals of wine both by the bottle or by the glass. In addition to the Château Élan wines served, marc also features an extensive beverage menu, proffering guests additional wines, spirits, and locally brewed beers. All of which were carefully chosen based on their unique characteristics and are made following the same sustainable philosophy as the Winery, staying true to the territory.
Ideal also for hosting events, marc has an open, industrial-style main dining room and features two large private dining rooms and a climate-controlled airy veranda with beautiful vineyard views year-round.
