(706) 663-4044WORLD WAR II EXHIBIT AT CHIPLEY HISTORICAL CENTER HIGHLIGHTS LOCAL RESIDENTS WHO SERVED IN THE GLOBAL CONFLICT
The Chipley Historical Center invites both local citizens and visitors to delve into the remarkable stories of community resilience and sacrifice in the current exhibit “Chipley in WWII: Stories from the Front.”
This exhibit focuses not only on the global impact of WWII but also highlights the men and women from Chipley who served in the conflict. It features letters from the Jenkins family, military honors given to local families, memorials, and an impressive display of wartime uniforms and equipment.
Lou Brackett, chair of the Chipley Historical Center, shared her hopes for visitors: "I want people to leave this exhibit with two profound realizations: that WWII was a devastating and brutal chapter in history, and that the brave citizens of Chipley served and made sacrifices for their country."
The exhibit will run through March 2025. Admission to the Chipley Historical Center is free.
