5 Top Georgia Pizza Parlors
Pizza may have been invented in Italy, but these Georgia chefs have perfected the art of making pizza pie.
Whether you like deep dish, traditional, or thin crust . .. red sauce, white sauce or chocolate sauce on your pizzas, you’ll love these 5 top Georgia pizza parlors!

Vinnie Van Go-Go's, Savannah
Although Vinnie Van Go Go's is small in stature, their Neapolitan-style pizzas of thin, hearty crusts topped with a rich tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses deliver big taste ... literally! You can have your pizza topped with "yuppie" toppings like broccoli, spinach or artichoke hearts delivered by bicycle (in downtown Savannah). Bring cash because that's all they take.

Sal's Neighborhood Pizzeria, St. Simons Island
Sal brought his Italian-style pizza (via New York City) to seafood-driven St. Simons Island, where it has become a fan favorite at Sal's Neighborhood Pizzeria. Rich, zesty sauce and wood-fired crust are two of the key ingredients that give Sal’s pizza that famous New York City taste. You can have your choice of toppings, and don't be shy about ordering an entrée to go with it. Their Chicken Piccata and Eggplant Parmigiana are both delicious choices (as is everything on the menu).

Shorty's Pizza, Atlanta
A wood-fired oven gives Shorty's pizza a smoky flavor that enhances the fresh ingredients they use to top all of their pizzas. You can build your own pie or go for one of their musically inspired pizzas like the "BB King," made of BBQ pork tenderloin, goat cheese, cilantro and “CZR” salad on top. By the way, pizzas are $5 off on Tuesdays at their North Druid Hills location and on Wednesdays at their Tucker location.

Bambinelli's Pizza & Pasta, Lilburn
Bambinelli's is my ALL-TIME favorite place to take the family for a delicious (and affordable) meal of baked gnocchi, garlic mussels and AMAZING pizza. The "Bambinelli's Special" pizza is authentic Italian-style pizza, meaning a thin, crisp crust, a smear of fresh tomato sauce, spicy pepperoni and sausage, and fresh peppers, onions and mushrooms. Don't be tempted to fill up on the buttery garlic rolls, but definitely pack some to go.

La Pizzeria at Cucina Rustica, Morganton
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, La Pizzeria's wood-fired pizzas will transport you to the heart of Italy. They have a very sophisticated menu that's the perfect oasis for their rustic setting. Try their Bianco pizza, made with ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and topped with baby spinach and a delicious balsamic glaze. Yum!
