Riceboro is the oldest existing town in Liberty County. It is home to the Geechee Kunda Cultural Arts Center and Museum, a living museum with African art, textiles, paintings, tools and craftwork used by the Gullah Geechees from the 1700s to the 1900s. The museum also features local artisans, singers, shouters and dancers at community events which are held throughout the year. The Riceboro Rice Festival is an annual celebration held the first and second weekends of November each year honoring rice farming, which was a major economic activity in the coastal region of Liberty County.
