First Day Hikes

Thursday, Jan 1, 2026 10 AM to 12:30 PM - James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park - Summerville, GA - Meet Rangers at the park office for an easy, moderate , or strenuous hike to start your new year with. The easy hike will be a 1.2 mile hike along the Lower Lake Trail. The moderate hike will take you up to the Marble Mine and is 1.5 miles. The strenuous hike will be approximately 4 miles around the Jenkins Gap Trail. All hikes leave at 10:00 am.

Lower Lake Trail and Jenkins Gap Trail Hikers will need to meet at the park office. Marble Mine Trail Hikers will need to meet at the Marble Mine Trailhead in Day Use. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water.
