The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center proudly presents "Back in Time"

 
            THE ARTS COUNCIL is thrilled to bring back by popular demand BACK IN TIME on Saturday, August 5, 2017 as part of its 2017 Summer MusicFest™ series. The concert will take place on the lawn of The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center at 8pm; gates will open at 6pm for picnickers. Tickets: Adults $20; Senior (65+)/Student $18. Come on out, listen and dance to that old time Rock-n-Roll as Back in Time band returns for one of Gainesville's favorite outdoor summer concerts. Featuring a 9-piece rock-n-roll band with a 4-piece horn section, Back in Time band members range in age from 30 to 60 with a passion for playing classic Rock-n-Roll, Soul and East Coast Beach Music. Band members hail from cities and towns all over northeast Georgia - Marietta, Gainesville, Athens, Duluth and Braselton.
 
Back in Time brings back musical memories from the 60s, 70s and 80s with hits like , “My Girl” by The Temptations, “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones, “Desperado” by The Eagles, and of course the band's namesake "Back in Time," by Hewy Lewis and the News. Get ready to shag the night away with your favorite partner when Back in Time performs some of the most memorable beach music classics. Back in Time is a musical tour de force of talent combining seasoned musicianship, vocal precision and a stage presence that has garnered them ook - Trumpet, Percussion, Vocals

Prepare for your shoes to be shucked as you and the crowd pop to their feet to sing along and dance. These musicians provide an all ages, family friendly show weaved into a powerful music concert experience. The crowd will stay until that last note is played and then beg for more. The perfect entertainment package! 
 
Sweet Butts BBQ will be onsite with a food truck selling delicious foods such as BBQ, burgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches and a variety of sides. Feel free to bring lawn chairs, picnics and beverages of choice.

From Atlanta: Take I-85 north to Exit 113 bearing left onto I-985 north to Exit 20 GA Highway 60 (Queen City Pkwy/Candler RD).  Turn left onto GA 60 and proceed approximately 2 miles to intersection with GA Hwy 369 (Jesse Jewell Pkwy). Turn right onto GA 369 and proceed approximately 1 / 2 mile to intersection with W. Academy St (Poultry monument/railroad museum on left & BB&T on right). Turn left onto W. Academy and proceed two blocks and the Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center will be on the right at the intersection of W. Academy and Spring St.
