Iconic North Georgia Mountain Lodge Restaurant Features New Design Enhancements and Entertainment Area
Atlanta, Ga. – April 18, 2018 – Unicoi State Park & Lodge today announced the grand re-opening of Smith Creek Tavern, after an extensive renovation. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and authentic Southern cuisine, Smith Creek Tavern offers both locals and travelers the perfect spot to enjoy a hearty meal or catch the big game. Renovations include a new full interior refresh and design enhancements, as well as a new upscale bar menu.
“Smith Creek Tavern is a favorite for our guests and the surrounding North Georgia community,” said Brian Berry, general manager of Unicoi State Park & Lodge. “We are excited to debut a new look to our loyal customers and invite everyone to experience the transformation firsthand. Smith Creek Tavern is the perfect place to dine, socialize and relax as you take a break from exploring the beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains.”
The fresh new design of Smith Creek Tavern seamlessly integrates beautiful, natural elements with unique mountain accents that enhance the ambiance of the space. Exciting changes include an updated entryway, sleek floors and wall coverings, stylish lighting, new Amish-made tables and chairs, an industrial bar countertop and upgraded bar equipment. Guests will delight in a new entertainment area including plenty of space for live music, pool and shuffleboard tables and five 65’’ televisions.
In addition to the changes in the overall look and feel, guests will now have the opportunity to indulge in an upgraded menu, including regional favorites such as southern fried trout and an authentic German platter, paying homage to the town’s Bavarian heritage. A welcome addition, the restaurant will now serve flights of local and regional craft beer, as well as Georgia’s very own distilled liquors.
Smith Creek Tavern is named for the mountain stream that runs through Unicoi State Park, connecting the breathtaking Anna Ruby Falls to Unicoi Lake, also known as Smith Lake. The creek is a popular fishing spot for anglers as it is frequently teeming with trout.
