Maddy's Public House

Maddy's is a relaxed neighborhood pub serving delicious homey pub grub and a selection of imported, domestic, and local draught beers, spirits, specialty cocktails, wine, and mead. We are located on the downtown square in Washington, Georgia on the first floor of the historic Fitzpatrick Hotel, which was built by first-generation Irish immigrants in 1898. We first opened our doors on June 16th, 2019.  

In the early 2000's a couple from California named Madeline and Tim Thibodeaux spent time in Washington GA, and were enchanted by the town's beauty and history. Tim and Madeline, nick-named Maddy and originally from England, dreamed of one day owning The Fitzpatrick Hotel and restoring the Tupper-Barnett House, both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. They persisted, but soon after finally purchasing the Tupper-Barnett House, Maddy was diagnosed with cancer. Tim promised Maddy before she passed that he would continue their work in Washington in her memory.
