Alamo

Alamo was incorporated on August 16, 1909, and is the county seat of Wheeler County. Located at the intersection of Ga. 126 and U.S. 280 near the county's western border, Alamo is one of only two cities in Wheeler. Wheeler County was established in 1912, and the county courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This brick courthouse has columned facades on three of the four sides.
