The Welcome Center is located in an old school that was built in 1934 on U. S. #1.  The building was renovated and now houses several offices. It's primary use is the Alma/Bacon County Welcome Center located in the center of the building. The Welcome Center serves as the community’s multi-functioning center, building community by welcoming newcomers, supporting residents in transition and creating access and opportunity.  The Welcome Center offers free wi-fi, public restrooms, various brochures from around the State of Georgia, picnic tables and more. U.S. Highways #1 and #32 make travel easy along north/south and east/west routes. The Welcome Center is centrally located 55 miles from I-95, 60 miles from I-75, 70 miles from I-16, and 110 miles from I-10.
