A small portion of this WMA is state-owned. This WMA is owned primarily by the US Forest Service with a small amount of land leased annually from private landowners. This area supports healthy game populations and is popular for deer and turkey hunting, as well as trout fishing. The Pinhote Trail transects this WMA and is the site of Keown Falls and John's Mountain Overlook.
