Movies have always been an easy escape. First-run movie tickets can get expensive, but there are several movie houses in Georgia, including the Grand Theater in Fitzgerald that run older movies for less. And now that Georgia has turned into the East Coast Hollywood, there's another reason to see old standbys on the big screen again – you might catch a glimpse of your favorite Georgia film location.

Don't wait for throwback Thursday, Georgia's roller skating rinks, like The Hollywood Connection in Columbus, are bringing back this nostalgic pastime. Think these rinks are only for tween couples skate? Think again! Some have adult evenings, toddler events, laser tag, game rooms, indoor playgrounds, and then there is always roller derby. Bet you didn't know Georgia has six roller derby teams.

What better way to get the flavor of a small town than to bowl a few games at a local bowling alley like Shamrock Bowling Center in Dublin? Kids can sign up for a summer Kids Bowl Free program, and many of the lanes will have a similar program so adults can join the fun for a nominal fee.

Trampoline parks have become all the rage. Sky Zone is a popular trampoline park in Roswell and McDonough. Kids love to jump and fly through the air, and they also have programs for adults, like the Skyrobics classes that burn up to 1,000 calories an hour!
