Historic Hunting: Atlatls

Sunday, Apr 12, 2026 2 PM to 4 PM - Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site - Cartersville, GA - It's the most common tool you've never heard of: the spear-thrower, or atlatl! This lever device is not only the historic precursor to archery but is still used around the world today. At Etowah, hunters would have used the atlatl to target white-tailed deer and wild turkey.
