Meet the Author with Ren & Helen Davis

Imagine if today the Great Smoky Mountains in North Georgia and the Appalachian Mountains in Tennessee or North Carolina were today open fields. It almost happened. Large-scale logging in the 1920s was rapidly clear-cutting the entire mountainous region. Two unlikely photographers saved the breathtaking beauty that would become the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Georgia Writers Museum is excited to bring authors Ren and Helen Davis presenting their stunning book, Land of Everlasting Hills, at the May 5th Meet the Author presentation. The event will be held at the museum on May 5th at 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm). A themed gourmet dinner will be included. Tickets are $45 ($40 each for two or more).

Ren Davis has had his travel writing and photography appear in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia Magazine, and Atlanta Magazine. Helen Davis taught for nearly thirty years in Atlanta public and private schools. Together they are the authors of several books and travel guides.
