Proudly Southern, the Allman Brothers Band was offered every opportunity to move away, but it chose to remain true to its roots, making Macon both a physical and spiritual home. 2019 marks 50 years since the band formed. Fans can visit the Allman Brothers Band Museum in the sprawling Tudor the band called home in its early days.

Overlooking the Flint River on Front Street in Albany, Ray Charles Plaza features a beautiful life-size bronze sculpture of Ray sitting at his piano. Nighttime visitors see the plaza lit up and are serenaded to Ray’s music.
