Once upon a time, Madras Park was a schoolhouse. Coming to Athens this summer, The Classic Center Arena will be the new local hub for large-scale events with capacity to hold 8,500 people. 13. Hotel Forty Five in Macon
Hotel Forty Five is downtown Macon’s first full-service boutique hotel. Inspired by the city’s rich history and culture, the 94-room hotel is located on a unique 45-degree angle, which is the result of Cotton Street's diagonal trajectory through Macon, an urban design ahead of its time that made possible the transportation of cotton barges to and from the Ocmulgee River.
