Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration

Join us for the Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration, a vibrant celebration of Southeastern Native American cultures, at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park on September 12-13, 2026. This FREE family-friendly event will feature traditional dance, cultural crafts, storytelling, educational programs, live demonstrations, and music, offering a unique opportunity to experience Native American heritage.

Explore arts and crafts from Native American vendors and enjoy delicious food available for purchase. The celebration honors the Muscogee people, who consider Ocmulgee Mounds their ancestral homeland. This homecoming event brings together various Native American tribes, blending both traditional and contemporary elements to celebrate the beauty and vital contributions of Native Peoples to Georgia and the Southeast.

Visitors will also have the chance to rediscover Ocmulgee Mounds, the Earth Lodge, the Visitor Center Museum, trails, and the park’s natural beauty.

Parking: Free parking is available at the Macon-Bibb Health Department (171 Emery Hwy), with a free, handicap-accessible shuttle taking you directly to the event entrance.
