Rossville, named after Cherokee Chief John Ross, shares a common border with Chattanooga, Tennessee. Its history spans hundreds of years, making it a fascinating place to explore.

John Ross resided in this location until the Cherokees' forced removal to Oklahoma in what came to be known as the Trail of Tears. The John Ross House, the oldest structure in Northwest Georgia, still stands in Rossville today. The restoration of the home began with its dismantling and rebuilding about 150 yards toward Missionary Ridge, still on the original Ross homestead.

Rossville also is home to one of North Georgia's favorite theme parks, Lake Winnepesaukah and Soak Ya Water Park. Nearby, Rock City Gardens and Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park offer amazing scenery and outdoor activities.
