See Where Ant-Man and the Wasp Filmed in Georgia

In Marvel's 2015 "Ant-Man," a con man named Scott Lang gets a second chance at life after getting out of prison when his mentor gives him the opportunity to be a superhero. But his powers are a suit that allows him to shrink down to the size of an insect. When the technology falls into the wrong hands, Lang must take on the Yellowjacket, someone with a similar suit.

In the 2018 follow up, "Ant-Man and the Wasp," Lang is under house arrest after the events of "Captain America: Civil War." When he receives a new mission, he learns more about his mentor’s past and his daughter Hope’s role as the new Wasp, stepping into her mother’s shoes.

Both films were shot in Atlanta as well as throughout Georgia and star Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Michael Douglas, and Atlanta native and musician Tip “TI” Harris. Pinewood Studios in Fayetteville was used extensively, as it has been for previous Marvel films, but Atlanta street scenes also were used for background, including Broad and Forsyth streets.

Atlanta

Norfolk Southern Building

Used as the exterior shots of Hank Pym’s lab in the films, you’ve likely seen this building in countless Georgia films and television shows, including "The Walking Dead," "24: Legacy," and even other Marvel films like "Captain America: Civil War." The building is set above the railroad lines that ran underneath the city streets, known as “The Gulch.” Formerly the offices of the rail company, you can’t actually visit the interior of the building, but you can catch a glimpse of it from Nelson Street and Ted Turner Drive.

Emory University

Atlanta’s college campuses have frequently been caught on film and Emory in Decatur is no different. Goodrich C. White Hall was used as the interior setting for Bill Foster’s classroom and laboratory in "Ant-Man and the Wasp." Built in 1977, the building was named for a 1908 graduate of the university who later returned to be a professor. Today, it’s used for film screenings for the Department of Film and Media Studies as well as student music performances.

El Bandido Mex Mex Grill

The Little Five Points eatery was used as an interior for a scene in a Mexican restaurant in "Ant-Man and the Wasp." Here you can enjoy favorites like enchiladas, nachos, tacos, fajitas, and a selection of margaritas and Mexican beers just like the stars of the movie do.

Fulton County Library

Atlanta’s main library branch, often referred to as Central Library, on Fairlie Street was used as an interior loading dock. While not a traditional filming location to visit, it’s a fascinating space in its own right. Built in 1977, it was designed by notable Hungarian architect Marcel Breuer, but is currently undergoing a renovation. When it reopens, don’t miss the Margaret Mitchell Collection upstairs, which contains items related to the author of "Gone With the Wind," including the typewriter she used and her Atlanta library card. In the meantime, you can visit the Margaret Mitchell House just 2 miles away on Peachtree Street to see where she lived and wrote the famous novel.

Braves All Star Grill

The Peachtree Street location of the Braves All Star Grill was featured as an internet cafe in the film. Set in the historic 200 Peachtree building, which has also been featured in films, the sprawling space is covered in the baseball team’s memorabilia, starting from their origins in Boston to the present day. The menu has elevated sports bar fare along with craft cocktails.

Atlanta Motor Speedway

Crews were spotted in Hampton last year at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, which hosts NASCAR and many other racing events and has been used in dozens of film and TV productions. The plentiful acreage and driving track have been in countless films and shows, including "Identity Thief," "The Walking Dead," "Logan Lucky," "Zombieland" and "Smokey and the Bandit."
