For the first time in several years, Washington, Georgia will be the site of a sanctioned 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, April 26 at 8:30 AM. Timing will be provided by Run the Tangents Timing and will help serious runners qualify for bigger races such as the Peachtree Road Race. You don't have to be a runner to participate though. Come hang out on the Square with family and friends and enjoy music, food, and a beautiful day (we hope!).

Proceeds from the race will benefit two non-profit organizations, Friends of the Square and the Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter. We are proud of the work our local shelter does and happy to have discovered another avenue in which to lend our support. Friends of the Square exists to foster community, connectivity, and commerce on our historic Square. Proceeds will go towards planning community events on the Square that encourage visitors and residents to come back downtown and celebrate the heart of our town and support our local merchants.
