Nestled in the heart of Albany, Georgia, Charles Sherrod Civil Rights Park honors the legacy of Dr. Charles Sherrod, a key architect of the civil rights movement in southwest Georgia. It is also one of the many stops in Albany's African American Heritage Trail. Designed as both a memorial and community space, the park features educational exhibits, commemorative artwork, and quiet areas for reflection. It stands as a living tribute to Sherrod’s tireless work for justice and equality through the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).
