The Historic Best Western Plus Windsor Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Americus, Georgia. Built in 1892, the Windsor is a Victorian masterpiece architecturally designed with tower and turret, balconies, and a three story open atrium lobby. In 1991, the hotel re-opened after a $6.5 million dollar renovation.
In 2010, the hotel underwent an extensive renovation updating the hotel with modern amenities, yet keeping its Victorian charm. The hotel also joined the Best Western family hosting a grand opening to remember with special guest attendees former President Jimmy Carter and Mrs. Carter.
At present time, there are 53 individually appointed guest rooms, including six suites and two tower suites, the Bridal Suite and the Carter Presidential Suite.
The Windsor Hotel has been featured on NBC's "The Today Show," Georgia Public Broadcasting, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, USA Today, Southern Living, and is located within the National Historic Register.
