AthFest Educates believes every child should experience the enriching impact of the arts. Our mission is to fund arts education for K-12 youth in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia. We have awarded $750K in grants to every Clarke County School District K-12 school and 17 local nonprofits to empower the arts in education, serving 6K+ students annually over 15 sears of funding arts education in our community. In 2025, we raised $65k+ at AthFest 2025 for arts education.
We primarily raise funds for our mission via donations and two internationally renown events: the AthFest Music & Arts Festival and the AthHalf Half Marathon & 5K. AthFest is a free, three day, music festival with three outdoor stages, an artist market, KidsFest with music and activities specifically for our promising young patrons, food trucks, beer gardens, and commercial vendors. The USATF certified AthHalf Marathon begins in picturesque downtown Athens and winds its way through surrounding historic neighborhoods with live music and water stops every mile along the route. Runners finish the route 'Between the Hedges' with a lap around UGA's Stanford Stadium. Both events prominently feature the local music and artists for which Athens, GA is famous.
