Founded in 1918 as an open air market, The Municipal Market opened the doors to its new building in 1924. Referred to as the Curb Market by locals, it houses thirty local businesses, including produce, butchers, seafood, a full service bakery, a cooking school, pharmacy and ten of the most popular eateries in the city. You will find produce stands offering peeled and cut fruits and vegetables, and meat stands offering whole pigs, half pigs and every part of the pig in between. Enjoy Caribbean, Venezuelan, French crepes, British double crust pies, vegetable/fruit juices, soul food, barbecue, Polish sausages, and of course, an all-American burger. There is the smell of fresh popcorn and the aroma of sweet treats baking as you enter the front doors. The market is one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta!
