Brochures
The Wren's Nest is the Queen Anne Victorian home of author and journalist Joel Chandler Harris, recorder of the Br'er Rabbit stories as told by the fictional character Uncle Remus. Located in Atlanta's historic West End, the Wren's Nest is Atlanta's oldest house museum. Our mission is to preserve storytelling traditions, cultivate the next generation of readers and writers, and celebrate self-expression through educational and cultural programming. Each Saturday, we are open for house tours offered on the hour and half hour from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and again at 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., following a live storytelling performance led by a professional storyteller. We are also open for tours by appointment.
The Wren's Nest sits on more than 2 acres of land just southwest of downtown Atlanta. Our natural grass amphitheater seats more than 800 and is capable of hosting weddings, concerts, and other special events.
