Blue Heron Nature Preserve

The Blue Heron Nature Preserve is a 30-acre natural wilderness located just off Roswell Road in Atlanta. The grounds are open every day, free to the public from dawn to dusk. Stroll the trails, keeping an eye out for a variety of birds and wildlife.

Tucked behind the office of the Blue Heron Nature Preserve is a simple garden that is making a big contribution to butterfly conservation. Blue Heron's butterfly garden was certified as a Monarch Waystation by "Monarch Watch," a conservation program of The University of Kansas.

The Blue Heron Gallery is a non-profit space dedicated to exhibiting artwork with an environmental thread. The small gallery in a beautiful architectural space in the middle of the preserve shows work quarterly with a reception for the public.

We offer many different types of programming, events and tours for scouts, garden clubs, schools and businesses.
