Old 4th Ward Skatepark

Located alongside the Atlanta BeltLine corridor in the shadow of Freedom Parkway, the Old Fourth Ward Skatepark offers world-class skateboard amenities as well as a large stormwater retention pond, playground and multi-use athletic field. Opened in spring 2011, it has quickly become a hot gathering spot for skaters, athletes and families alike. Sustainable features of the park include solar photovoltaic panels, offsetting roughly 50 percent of the park's energy costs, and an underground cistern from which all non-potable water is drawn. An organic land care regimen is used to maintain the greenspace and landscaping.
