The Alexander Hamilton, Jr., House was built in 1893 by Atlanta’s leading African American architect and builder, Alexander Hamilton, Jr., as his family home. The Howell/Youngblood family acquired the house in 1984, making them only the second family to live in the home since it was built 91 years earlier. Whether a business traveler or just looking to getaway, The Howell/Youngblood’s carefully and lovingly restored this historic home and has now made it available for you to enjoy.
The rooms of the home have been named for American cultural icons. Aretha Franklin – the Queen of Soul, but whose talent spanned all genres of music. Sun Ra – the avant-garde jazz musician. W.E.B. DuBois – scholar, author, philosopher, and activist. Elizabeth Catlett – painter, printmaker, and sculptor. Maya Angelou – poet, singer, playwright, director, and activist. John Coltrane – pioneering jazz saxophonist and composer.
The newly renovated home is complete with a state-of-art kitchen, business center, solarium with a built-in spa, and a deck and patio ideal for outdoor entertaining or just relaxing to the soothing sound of the backyard waterfall.Facility Amenities |
