Bear on the Square Mountain Festival Celebrates Traditional Music, Art and Storytelling

DAHLONEGA, GA – March 1, 2019 – The 23rd annual Bear on the Square Mountain Festival returns to Dahlonega’s historic public square on Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28, 2019. Pre-festival events, including musicians starting to jam on the square and the Live and Silent Country Auction, are Friday, April 26.

Bear on the Square is an authentic Appalachian Heritage Festival spotlighting bluegrass and old-time music, a juried Artists Market Place featuring traditional mountain crafts, storytelling, free music workshops and demonstrations, local wine and beer, a Sunday Gospel Jam, children’s activities, dancing, and more.

Additional information about the 2019 festival will be available at www.bearonthesquare.org as it is confirmed. Bear on the Square Mountain Festival, Inc., which stages the yearly celebration of Southern Appalachian music, art and folklore, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit cultural arts organization. A special program, Friends of Bear, is available for individuals, businesses and organizations to financially support the festival.
