The Southeast Fiber Arts Alliance (SEFAA) is a full-service arts center dedicated to textiles. SEFAA celebrates, supports, and perpetuates all fiber art forms (applique’ to weaving) by:
- Providing diverse and comprehensive fiber art programming;
- Preserving fiber art skills and traditions;
- Promoting the fiber arts;
- Inspiring and supporting fiber artists of all abilities, organizations, businesses, and educators; and,
- Connecting the fiber arts community.
Our full-service textile arts center opened in 2011 and in 2018, we installed and equipped the only public facility for dyeing, felting, and surface design activities in the State. We are proud to offer free, 4-hr long open-studio sessions twice a week, a comprehensive textile lending library, and extremely affordable studio and facility rentals. We teach practical skills that enrich lives and combat throwaway consumerism, we encourage creativity which feeds and soothes the soul, and we share textile traditions that build bridges, trust, and connections in our diverse, multi-cultural world. Our focus on textiles – traditional to cutting-edge – is unique in, and invaluable to, our regional arts landscape.
Let’s connect and create, share, learn, and explore the fiber arts together one thread at a time!
