Emerson
Emerson is becoming the nation's top destination for travel sports. LakePoint Sports, an ongoing development for more than 20 of America's favorite sports, is north of metro Atlanta at I-75 Exit 283. The LakePoint Sporting Community includes Prep Baseball Report Baseball, Rally Volleyball and Terminus Wake Park, an all-ages watersports park.
Between games, see the Allatoona Pass Battlefield or venture into Emerson for delicious fried chicken at Doug's Place on the Old Dixie Highway (GA 293) and take home handcrafted souvenirs from Payne Pottery. Choose from new hotels underway, stay at the historic Lake Allatoona Inn Bed & Breakfast, or enjoy lakeside camping at Allatoona Landing Marine Resort. Military families may make reservations at the Navy Lake Site Allatoona. Just 2-5 miles north is Cartersville where you can experience Red Top Mountain State Park, Booth Western Art Museum, Tellus Science Museum, Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site and memorable shops and restaurants.
