Lookout Mountain Pottery in Trenton, Georgia

Trenton

As the seat of Dade County, the city of Trenton sits in a serene valley in the foothills of Appalachia between Lookout Mountain to the east and Sand Mountain to the west.

From cave exploration to hang gliding off Lookout Mountain and a rollicking family vacation to a peaceful and romantic getaway, this little corner of the state offers the perfect setting. Stroll through Trenton's shops and art studios, watch the hang gliders soaring above the valley, drive the Lookout Mountain Parkway & Scenic Highway, peruse the exhibits at the American Legion Military Museum and watch a movie under the stars at the Wilderness Theater.

Trenton is a 10-minute drive to one of the Georgia's most spectacular state parks — Cloudland Canyon State Park — where cliffs, caves, waterfalls, creeks, picnic areas, and hiking and biking trails offer many things to see and do. Within the park, Sitton's Gulch Trail is one of the most popular ways to see the diversity of landscapes in the area. The trail is strenuous, but there are many others that are moderate or easy.

This is a mountain getaway yet to be discovered by the masses!
