Winterville

Winterville, Ga. offers small town living at its best just a short six mile drive from the University of Georgia in downtown Athens. The town's history dates back to the 1700s when land grants brought settlers here. In 1904, the city of Winterville was incorporated, and it is the only municipality located entirely within Athens-Clark County. The annual Marigold Festival is a popular tourist attraction that began over 30 years ago to raise funds to beautify the town and improve the community.
