Owned and operated by Columbus State University, the Coca-Cola Space Science Center innovatively combines education and entertainment to promote science exploration and discovery throughout Columbus and the Southeast. Along with a host of interactive gallery exhibits, the center is home to the Challenger Learning Center mission simulator, WestRock Observatory, Omnisphere Planetarium Theater, Space Shuttle Odyssey launch simulator, and also serves as the teaching and research site for all Columbus State astronomy courses.
The Coca-Cola Space Science Center proudly houses Georgia's most extensive Space Shuttle artifact collection. This NASA artifact collection is valued at nearly $20 million and includes a nine-time space-flown Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) Nozzle, BioMed and Operations Management Consoles from Kennedy Space Center's Firing Room 3, Space Shuttle Escape Basket, General Onboard Computer, Front Shuttle Tire and more.
