The Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is a seven-branch system that serves more than 250,000 people in four counties, Muscogee, Chattahoochee, Marion and Stewart. The Library system is the most widely used cultural institution in the region, with more than 120,000 residents holding library cards. It was named one of the “10 Most Beautiful Libraries in Georgia” by the Georgia Public Library Service.
The Library plays an essential role in the community as a trusted resource and center for civic engagement. The staff provides services that are accessible, convenient and responsive to community needs by using traditional formats and innovative technologies.
The Genealogy and Local History Department serves as the Chattahoochee Valley area's primary repository for genealogical and historical research materials. Visitors searching their ancestry in Georgia or one of the states of the American Southeast will find the Library's Genealogy Department to be of valuable assistance.
