The Cornelia Historic Train Museum, built in 1914, is an icon that has withstood the test of time. The museum offers a glimpse into life of the early 1900s with train artifacts, historic photographs, and much much more. A knowledgeable historian is available to guide you through the history of the museum or you can explore on your own. Flip through photographs of the Tallulah Falls Railroad which began in Cornelia, Georgia. Walk through a restored caboose and watch as trains rattle by on the tracks. There are multiple hands on exhibits as well where you can ring a bell donated to the museum in the 1950s and even sit at a switchboard that was used to keep trains and their passengers safe.

During summer months, the City of Cornelia has a Splash Pad open at this location as well with public bathrooms, benches, and shade. Come cool off in the splashing water and explore the museum afterwards! The museum is conveniently located in Downtown Cornelia within easy walking distance to numerous restaurants. Our tour guide in the museum can offer restaurant recommendations, other recreational activities, and brochures for other local attractions. The Historic Train Museum Gift Shop has a penny press machine and numerous gifts to commemorate your time here in Cornelia.
